Headed by a Senior Librarian and assisted by a Librarian and a staff of 15,the Municipal library offers the following services:

1. Lending of books and periodicals.
2. Lending of audio visual materials (video cassettes, CD’s, VCD’s, DVD’s).
3. Provides internet access.
4. Provides a reference section for general information and for consultation only and also a special Mauritian collection.

With a view to decentralize the services and to bring the services nearer to the citizens, the Council has:

1. A sub-library at Maingard.
2. Mini-library for reading purposes at Chebel, Plaisance, Camp Levieux, Stanley and Trèfles.
