For the proper administration of the Towns and Districts of the Island of Mauritius, the Local Government Act has established a Local Authority and the corporate name of this Local Authority' is the Municipal Council of Beau Bassin-Rose Hill.

The Municipal Council of Beau Bassin-Rose Hill is divided into four electoral wards. Each ward shall elect six Councillors, with a total of twenty-four Councillors for the Municipal Council of Beau Bassin-Rose Hill.
