The terms of reference of this committee are mainly the development of social and community services in favour of those persons in need of help like the elderly, the poor and physically handicapped persons. The management of pre-primary schools – day care centre, nurseries, social centres, etc is the committee’s main concern. It also tries to find ways and means to ensure the well being of all inhabitants by providing facilities.

The Committee also scrutinises the functioning of Women and Senior Citizens associations affiliated with the Council.
