In front of the Town Hall Complex, and along the main road, there is an attractive sculptured fountain. It was created in 1989.
On both sides of the Town Hall are found well kept flower gardens.
On the left hand side entering the Town Hall Yard from the main road, one is attracted by the iron statue of Paul and Virginie, of legendary fame
On the right hand side of the Town Hall, near the Salle des Fêtes, a 250 inch high sculptured stone commemorative column, the SILAMBU, was erected in 1986 by the International Movement for Tamil Culture (Mauritius). It is a monument in homage to the arrival in 1735 of the first Indian immigrants coming to Isle de France, as Mauritius was then known, from Tamil Nadu, especially Pondicherry.
At the back of the Town Hall Yard, or behind the Theatre Museum and close to the Govinden Court, is situated an open space with a kiosk in the middle. Formerly, this kiosk stood on the land at present occupied by the New Administrative Building.
Every evening, particularly at weekends, the frontage of the Town Hall Complex is crowded by inhabitants of the town and its vicinity.
